Your posts always make me so happy! They make me look at household items, and our recycling pile, in a whole new way.

Always looking for fun ideas for adult gifts and this one is gold. ❤️

I’m so glad! I like to batch a bunch so I can have last minute gifts on hand.

I'm sorry but I just can't visualize how you are attaching the rubber band closure. Or maybe it isn't attached but slipped over the head, pulled down across the opening then up the back and down again across the front to slip over the Brad head again? In which case I would manage to lose the rubber band, lol. Love the idea, just not following this one part. Thanks!

Yes! That’s it! I just slipped around the Brad head (can be doubled) then looped around the case and secured again over the brad! I’ve done it on video on many of my other video tutorials (you can see it in last week’s craft) so didn’t go into great detail.

This has soothed my heart on an emotional day! Always love your tutorials…. I got in the groove last month and accidentally made 48 scrap paper matchbooks 🫣. Can’t wait to see what happens if I sit down to make a few of these!

48?!! You are my kinda crafter! I’m so glad this could be a little something to soothe. Thank you for this message and enjoy the making!

I’d love to know what tools you recommend - do you have a favourite hole punch and craft knife?

Rose Pearlman's avatar

I’m lazy so it was the knife I had within reach. (An Exacto knife), and the whole punch needs to be pretty robust depending on how thick the chipboard. In many cases I just used that same Exacto to make a small slice for the brad to be inserted.
