I love a head kerchief for house painting, yardwork or camping. Will have to give some of these other ideas a try!

I have never been able to figure out how to tie scarves in an attractive manner. But bandanas- that's a different story! I am always wearing a schmatta when I am gardening. I even lined a handled basket with two bandanas to make two separate pockets. It's good for carrying small craft items and making sure they don't fall through the weave of the basket. Nice for picnics, too! I have a couple of furoshiki, but I don't want to wrap a gift in them because I wouldn't get them back!

Wonderful, and yes, a good furoshiki is hard to let go!

Thank you for these wonderful ideas! My second baby spit up constantly so I began wearing a bandana to ensure I always had a burp cloth nearby. That was 2 years ago but I still keep a bandana on hand for myself and each kid in our shoulder seasons and when traveling because being able to cover your neck or ears on a windy day seems to be the difference between feeling chilled and cranky vs comfortable. I also used one of our trusty squares yesterday to tie a child's hoodie onto my small shoulder bag so that it wouldn't slip off unnoticed - worked like a charm!
